8.6. Replacement of back brake shoes on disk brakes



Surely make replacement of all blocks on one axis of the car even if the limit of wear were reached by one block. If blocks are repeatedly established, before removal mark them.

1. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Remove back wheels.
2. Note an arrangement of a spring of an anti-tinkling sound, then, using a steel core or a screw-driver, from the outer side squeeze out the bottom and top pins of fastening of brake shoes.
3. Remove an anti-jingle spring.
4. Using the special tool or flat-nose pliers, take an external brake shoe from a support.
5. Using flat-nose pliers, take an internal brake shoe from a support.
6. Clear a support of a dust and dirt.
7. Measure thickness of brake shoes.
8. If blocks are suitable for further operation, clear them, using a wire brush and rags.
9. If new brake shoes are established, press the piston into a support the hammer handle. Thus watch, that the piston did not warp, and surfaces of the piston and a boot were not damaged. At a piston vdviganiye brake liquid is forced out from the brake cylinder in a broad tank. Therefore constantly watch liquid level in a tank, and if necessary, pump out from a tank its small amount.
10. Check that dredging in the piston is located at an angle 23 ° to the horizontal line. If necessary turn the piston in demanded situation.
11. Establish new brake shoes in a support. Check that blocks freely move in a support.
12. Establish an anti-tinkling sound spring on blocks, then from the inside insert pins of fastening of brake shoes. Thus at the same time press an anti-tinkling sound spring.
13. Several times press a brake pedal that brake shoes nestled on a brake disk.
14. Repeat above-mentioned actions on the second wheel.
15. Establish wheels and lower the car.
16. Check level of brake liquid.
