3.2.8. Gear belt

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Replacement of a gear belt is necessary for making on the cold engine.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the piston of the first cylinder in VMT on a compression step.
2. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft.
3. On models of 1,6 l unscrew a bolt of fastening of the bottom casing and remove the bottom casing of a gear belt.
4. On models of 1,6 l check that adjusting labels of pulleys of camshafts were combined with the top surface of a head of the block of cylinders, and the adjusting label of a pulley of a cranked shaft was combined with the index (see fig. An arrangement of adjusting labels of pulleys of camshafts and a cranked shaft at installation of the piston of the first cylinder in VMT in a compression step).
5. Unscrew two bolts of fastening of the sensor of a camshaft to a head of the block of cylinders and move the sensor aside.
6. On models 1,8 and 2,0 of l check that adjusting labels of pulleys of camshafts were combined with labels on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders, and the adjusting label of a pulley of a cranked shaft was combined with the index on the case (labels are specified by shooters).
7. Weaken a bolt of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt (1). Using a key, turn the lever of the mechanism of a tension clockwise against the stop therefore the belt tension will decrease. Then tighten a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension (the turnkey opening is specified by figure 2).
8. Remove a gear belt from pulleys. Do not turn a cranked shaft or camshafts before installation of a gear belt.
9. Check a gear belt on wear, stratification or a zamaslivaniye. If on a gear belt there are oil traces, before installation of a new belt find a source of leakage of oil and eliminate it.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clear pulleys of a gear belt, a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and an intermediate pulley.
2. Check that adjusting labels of pulleys (And – a label of a pulley of a cranked shaft) are combined with indexes (In).
3. Establish a gear belt on a pulley of a cranked shaft and camshaft pulleys so that the forward part of a gear belt was constantly tense. In the last turn establish a gear belt on a pulley of the water pump and a pulley of the mechanism of a tension.
4. Weaken a bolt of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt for release of a spring of the mechanism of a tension. Turn the lever of the mechanism of a tension counter-clockwise until the index of the mechanism of a tension will not reach an emphasis. Tighten a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension.
5. Repeatedly check correctness of combination of adjusting labels of pulleys with indexes.
6. For a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft turn a cranked shaft on two complete revolutions.
7. Repeatedly check that adjusting labels of pulleys of a gear belt were combined with indexes then weaken a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt.
8. If the new gear belt is established, it is necessary to adjust the tension mechanism so that the index was combined with a safety lock on a basic plate.
9. If the gear belt is established repeatedly, it is necessary to adjust the tension mechanism so that the index was located on 4 mm to the left from a safety lock on a basic plate (see fig. Provision of the index of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt).
10. Establish a casing of a gear belt and a pulley of a cranked shaft. On model of 1,6 l it is necessary to establish the camshaft sensor before installation of a casing of a gear belt.
