3.3.8. Replacement of a gear belt

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Replacement of a gear belt is necessary for making on the cold engine.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point in a compression step. Bolts fix pulleys of a camshaft and the fuel pump.
2. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft.
3. Unscrew bolts and remove the bottom casing of a gear belt together with rubber consolidation.
4. Weaken bolts of fastening of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt and disconnect a spring of the mechanism of a tension from adjusting pins.
5. Remove a gear belt. If the gear belt is repeatedly established, note the direction of its rotation
6. Check a condition of a gear belt on wear, stratification or pollution by oil. In case the belt is polluted by oil, it is necessary to find a place of leakage of oil and to eliminate it.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear pulleys of a gear belt. Check that pulleys of a camshaft and the fuel pump are fixed by bolts. Temporarily establish a pulley of a cranked shaft to a gear pulley and check that the label on a pulley is combined with the index on the case of the oil pump. Also the label on a gear pulley of a cranked shaft should be combined with the index on the case of the oil pump (the label is specified by an arrow).
2. Remove an auxiliary pulley of a cranked shaft and establish a gear belt on pulleys of a cranked shaft, the oil pump, the fuel pump, a pulley of a camshaft and check, that the back branch of a belt was hardly tense. Check that adjusting labels of pulleys are combined with indexes.
3. Pull a gear belt a spring of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension.
4. Check that the adjusting label of a pulley of a cranked shaft is combined with the index then unscrew tightening bolts from pulleys of the fuel pump and a camshaft pulley.
5. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and turn a pulley of a cranked shaft in the opposite direction on 60 ° (counter-clockwise).
6. Automatically to adjust a tension of a gear belt, fix a pulley of a cranked shaft from a provorachivaniye and tighten a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension.
7. Turn a cranked shaft on two complete revolutions and check that all adjusting labels on pulleys were combined with the index.
8. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and turn a cranked shaft on 60 ° counter-clockwise to adjust a tension of a gear belt. Fix a pulley of a cranked shaft from a provorachivaniye and tighten a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension.
9. Establish a cranked shaft of the engine in situation at which the piston of the first cylinder is in the top dead point in a step of compression and check that all adjusting labels on pulleys were combined with indexes.
10. Establish casings of a gear belt and a pulley of a cranked shaft.
