3.3.13. Head of the block of cylinders

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of openings for identification of thickness of laying of a head of the block of cylinders

And – the opening is absent – 1,4 mm

In – one opening – 1,45 mm

With – two openings – 1,5 mm

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge cooling liquid from cooling system.
2. Remove inlet and final collectors.
3. Remove a camshaft pulley.
4. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a back casing of a gear belt to a head of the block of cylinders.
5. Weaken collars and disconnect hoses of supply of cooling liquid to a casing of the thermostat and a head of the block of cylinders.
6. Unscrew nuts and remove wires from incandescence candles.
7. Disconnect the socket from the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.
8. Disconnect pipelines of supply of fuel from fuel nozzles and the fuel pump of a high pressure and remove pipelines.
9. Gradually unscrew bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders as it should be, the return shown in drawing.
10. Take bolts together with washers.
11. Remove a head from the block of cylinders and laying.

Preparation for installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine are necessary for clearing carefully of the laying and deposit remains, using a plastic or wooden scraper. It is also necessary to clear the top parts of pistons. When cleaning exclude possibility of hit of products of cleaning to oil canals of system of cooling. Carefully clear internal surfaces of cylinders.
2. Check surfaces of interface of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine on existence of defects. Insignificant damages are eliminated with machining. Also using a metal ruler and щуп, check planeness of a prileganiye of surfaces.
3. Clear openings under bolts in the block. Bolt screwing up in the opening filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.
4. Depending on size of a vystupaniye of pistons from the block of cylinders it is necessary to use laying of a head of strictly certain thickness. The thickness of laying is identified by the openings punched in the left forward corner of laying (see fig. An arrangement of openings for identification of thickness of laying of a head of the block of cylinders).
5. Check that the cranked shaft is in the provision of the top dead point of the piston of the first cylinder. Establish the indicator of hour type on an arm on the block of cylinders. Establish a measuring tip on the block of cylinders and establish an indicator scale on 0. Establish a measuring tip on the piston of the first cylinder and slightly turn a cranked shaft in both parties and note the highest value on the indicator. Write down this value. Check a piston vystupaniye in three points (points are specified by shooters).
6. Similarly measure a piston vystupaniye on the N4 cylinder. Then turn a camshaft on 180 ° and repeat measurement of a vystupaniye of pistons on cylinders 2 and 3. Turn a camshaft on 540 ° and establish it in a starting position.
7. Define an average vystupaniye of the piston, putting 12 sizes of a vystupaniye of pistons and having divided total number on 12. Using size of an average vystupaniye of the piston, pick up laying of a head of the block of cylinders (see the table).

Installation
Prevention

At installation of a head of the block of cylinders it is necessary to use new bolts.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Wipe interfaced surfaces of the block of cylinders and a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Check that two directing pins are established in a head of the block of cylinders and establish laying of a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Check that the label of a pulley of a cranked shaft is combined with the index, and the camshaft is established in a head of the block of cylinders so that cams of the first cylinder were directed up.
4. Establish a head of the block of cylinders.
5. Grease bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders with engine oil and, being careful, insert them into nests. Screw up bolts of fastening of a head by hand.
6. In the sequence shown in drawing, tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders in some stages.
7. Further installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
