6. Systems of start, ignition6.1. Charging system6.1.1. Introduction
If the control lamp of a battery charging does not burn at ignition inclusion, check connection of wires to the generator and integrity of a control lamp. If the lamp still does not burn, check an electric chain from the generator to a lamp. If all electric chains are serviceable, means the generator is faulty and it should be replaced or repaired. If the control lamp of a battery charging burns at operation of the engine, stop the engine and check a condition and a tension of a driving belt of the generator, and also connection of wires to the generator. Check of a regulator of tension can be made as follows. Connect the voltmeter to poles of the accumulator and start the engine. Increase engine turns before stabilization of indications of the voltmeter which should show from 12 to 13 volts, but no more than 14 volts. Include the maximum number of electric consumers (a headlight, a heater of back glass, the heater fan). Thus the tension developed by the generator with a regulator of tension should be in limits from 13 to 14 volts. If tension does not correspond to demanded sizes, worn-out brushes of the generator, weak springs of brushes, a faulty regulator of tension, the faulty diode, break of a winding of a stator or defective contact rings of a rotor can be a cause of defect. |
