8.8. Replacement of brake shoes of the hand brake

GENERAL INFORMATION

With back brake disks the hand brake works at models irrespective of hydraulic brake system. Brake shoes of drum-type type are thus used, and as a brake drum the internal part of a brake disk is used.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a brake disk.
2. Clear a dust and dirt from a basic plate and brake shoes.
3. Using flat-nose pliers, remove a plate of a spring of fixing of a brake shoe, pressing a plate and turning it on 90 °.
4. Remove a spring and take a clamp pin.
5. Note an arrangement of all details of the hand brake and remove an adjusting level from the top part of brake shoes.
6. Using flat-nose pliers, remove the top returnable spring from brake shoes.
7. Remove the bottom returnable spring.
8. Remove brake shoes.
9. Using a screw-driver, disconnect a cable of the hand brake from a special bracket.
10. Disconnect a returnable spring from a basic plate and remove the lever.
11. Brake shoes of the hand brake can be established in sequence, return to removal. However it is most convenient to establish blocks of the hand brake after removal of a back nave. Thus it is necessary to fix temporarily a basic plate two bolts.
12. Collect the lever of the hand brake, putting lubricant on contact surfaces. Then establish the lever to a basic plate, inserting it through a window with rubber consolidation.
13. Establish a cable of the hand brake on the lever.
14. Establish a cable of the hand brake on a fastening bracket.
15. Using flat-nose pliers, clamp a fastening bracket.
16. Then establish a returnable spring.
17. Apply a thin film high-temperature greasing on places of contact of brake shoes with a brake board.
18. Establish a forward block.
19. Establish a spring and a plate of fixing of a brake shoe.
20. Fix a spring and a plate of a spring.
21. Establish a back brake shoe and establish the bottom returnable spring.
22. Establish a brake shoe on the bottom basic plate.
23. Establish a spring and a plate of a spring of fastening of a brake shoe to a brake board.
24. Establish an adjusting level between the top ends of brake shoes.
25. Establish the top returnable spring.
26. Establish a back nave.
27. Temporarily establish a brake disk on brake shoes. Using a screw-driver, turn a regulator nut so that it was possible to remove a brake disk without jamming.
28. Establish a brake disk.
29. Adjust the hand brake.
30. Establish wheels and lower the car.
